Assessment 1 – Develop an Old Testament devotion Due Date: June 27 (Week 9) Use interpretive methods to interpret an Old Testament passage from which you develop a brief devotional message for a small group which shows them how they can apply/respond to the passage in their life.
Assessment 2 Due date: June 27 (Week 9) Create a tool which can aid your explanation of God’s Story to a disciple.
Assessment 2 – Develop a New Testament devotion Due Date: July 18 (Week 12) Use interpretive methods to interpret a New Testament passage from which you develop a brief devotional message for a small group which shows them how they can apply/respond to the passage in their life.
Assessment 3 – Personal reflection on interpretation Due Date: July 18 (Week 12) 200-500 words NB: This reflection cannot be accessed until you have submitted Assessment 2, so you will need to manage your time well to ensure you have enough time to access the reflection question and respond before the due date cut off.
Assessment 3 Due date: July 18 (Week 12) Record a video of yourself responding to the following question from a person who is early in their discipleship journey: Q: So, what’s the Bible all about anyway? Your response should consist of an overview of the Bible’s structure, narrative and major themes and be based on all nine weeks of the lectures of this unit.
Assessment 1 – Develop a plan to disciple another church member to enable growth over 8 weeks (about 2 months). Due Date: August 8 (Week 3) Find a person to disciple within your church, then collaborate with them and develop a discipleship plan for at least 8 weeks (about 2 months). This must include at least four formal meetings (discussing the discipleship plan, goals, progress, etc.) and at least two informal connections (phone calls, text messages, conversing in the foyer at church, etc.) You will need to obtain consent from the disciple to create a written record of the process throughout the term
Assessment 2 - Knowledge Quiz. Opens: Monday, September 15 (start of Week 9) Closes: either 5 days after it is opened OR 11:55PM Friday October 10 (week 12), whichever comes first. You will find access to the quiz under the Assessment tile in Moodle. You will be given 3 attempts to score 100%. Failing to attain mark of 100% or higher will result in a Not Yet Satisfactory grade for this assessment.
